Various sources show Sophoronia's DOB as 26 Feb 1862. They are allincorrect. A search of the Arichat birth records for 1862 shows no suchindividal born that day to these parents. However, a child named Seraphinwas born on 5 March 1862 to Isaie and Emilie. The birth record for Sophoronia shows up under these parents in theArichat birth records for 1863 BUT with the date of birth listed as 26February 1862. Since Seraphin was born on 5 March 1862, it is animpossibility for Sophoronia to have been born a week earlier. Thus, the1863 year of birth for Sophoronia must be correct. The error could haveoccurred either in the original recording, or during the indexing. Areview of the original record should determine the cause of the error.
