Notes

Marchand, Alvina Mary, 91, Louisdale. It is with sadden hearts that we the family of Alvina have to announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on March 29, 2014 at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston. Born in Louisdale, she was daughter of the late Frank and Leda (Marchand) Goyetche. Considered a kind, loving and selfless matriarch by many she found pure joy in providing, helping and caring for others. To call her a giver doesn't do her justice. Giving was simply a part of her nature, a portion her soul. Alvina was a woman of strong faith who supported her family, friends and community with a very big and generous heart. She was an active volunteer in her community serving night lunches at the Strait Richmond Hospital as well as a lifetime member of St. Louis C.W.L. Alvina will be sadly missed by her loving daughters Barbara (Stanley) Jacobson, Florida, Geraldine Samson, Louisdale; daughter in law The´re`se (Joe) Marchand , Louisdale; grandchildren Kimberly Boudreau, Scott (Irena) Jacobson, Rachel (David) Silver, Amy Samson, Michael (Krista) Samson, Jean-Guy Marchand, Melanie (Barry) Eason; great grandchildren Dylan Zimmermann, Lennox and Quinn Jacobson, Charlotte, Max and Molly Silver, Adele and Chantal Eason, Joel Marchand, Michelle Sampson; sister Loretta Marchand, Louisdale and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Dennis Joseph, son Joseph, brothers Charles and John. Visitation will be held on Sunday in the Glen Sampson Room, Louisdale from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Louis Church, Louisdale Monday morning at 11a.m. with Rev Angus MacDougall officiating. Internment will take place at a later date in St. Louis Parish Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society, Nova Scotia Lung Association, St. Louis Cemetery Fund.
